Octaviius adapts the technical structure of your data to how it is used.
It’s transparent to you.
The engine analyzes repeated queries and can build eligible indexes, column projections and pre-aggregates. At execution time, the optimizer selects structures based on estimated cost. You work on your model and queries; the engine manages their physical organization.

Column-based access
Column projections give the engine access to fields needed by an analysis through a structure separate from row-based storage.
Pre-aggregated calculations
Pre-aggregates provide dedicated structures for eligible SUM, COUNT and AVG calculations. The optimizer determines whether they suit a query.

Which deployment should my company choose?
Octaviius Core can run inside your network on servers you administer. You can also request dedicated server hosting. The choice depends on your infrastructure constraints and operating requirements.
What does compressed storage mean?
Data is retained in compressed pages managed by Core. Compression is part of the engine’s operation and does not require changes to the logical structure of your tables.
How are optimizations managed?
With automatic tuning enabled, the engine analyzes recurring queries and can create eligible structures. The optimizer compares available paths for each execution. Plans and metrics remain available in Studio.
How can I assess query compatibility?
Check the SQL statements, types and functions your application uses against Octaviius support. Studio lets you run queries and examine results and plans before choosing a deployment.
